These recommendations are for women that have just had a baby.

If you are pregnant and nursing then you can not use herbs to increase supply the herbs and seeds used can be an aborficient.
There are MANY ways to increase supply naturally through foods and herbs. by increasing nursing, and also by increasing pumping. If you are pumping, you need to get a good quality breast pump. If you have just had a baby and your baby is in the NICu, you MUST pump every hour and a half to two hours. Around the clock. Your baby will need to eat at the three hour mark, and your milk is the best thing for your baby, if you wait until three hours to pump, you will not be telling your body to make milk enough, and your supply will wane. This is very hard work, I know it, and you will need to be strong. It is absolutely in your , and your baby’s best interest for you to do this! REMEMBER it is for a very short time, and soon, you will have your baby at your breast. If you are in Windsor, or area, Please see contact information for support......
Herbs-Fenugreek and blessed thistle - these also come in vitamin form, you can take them together. Please make sure you can take fenugreek if you are on any kinds of medication. It has been known to mess with sugar levels in some. Fenugreek will also speed up time lapse medication, like heart medicine.

Fennel seed infusion. (or tea) you need 1 tsp of fennel seeds, crush, pour boiling water over the seeds and let steep for 15 minutes. (Longer will make a bitter tea) drain off the water, dump the seeds, and drink the infusion, it is good for digestion, gas and increasing milk supply Red Raspberry Leaf tea. This infusion is SO good for you, from the middle of your pregnancy until you go through menopause (PLEASE, if you are pregnant and drink red raspberry leaf tea and start to spot, discontinue drinking it. It is not good for everyone) .
FOOD

Oatmeal, You can get the oatmeal in any way you like… cookies granola cereal, what ever. Oatmeal works amazing!!! I find stone cut or steel cut oats are better nutritionally, but anything will work.
Barley is also wonderful for increasing supply naturally. Some cultures will have the mom soak in water and drink the water. I prefer to have it in a soup. You should also try to drink at least 2 L of water a day. We get dehydrated very easy. Some other things to think of if you have a baby that is either loosing weight, OR you are noticing a drop in supply. Are you trying to put baby on a schedule, are you feeding baby solids, are you on the pill or any other type of birth control outside of condoms, and knowing your cycle? Are you drinking more coffee or caffeine? Remember, what ever the pump gets out, is generally half of what your baby can get out.
Are you busier in the day, getting groceries, cleaning your house, going shopping visiting friends?? That will decrease supply, and will make baby cranky.
Is baby getting teeth, probably, Growth spurts happen at 3,6, 9, 12, this goes for days, weeks months and years. It seems to be a very common trend. Something else to consider, did you vaccinate baby recently, sometimes it can make a baby uncomfortable and not want to nurse.
Just because your breasts are not full, doesn’t mean you don't have much milk, around 6 weeks your milk supply regulates, your breasts should feel soft. around 6 months this happens again, and your breasts feel empty.
